Chapter 34

Chapter 34

This week, I celebrated year 34 with a heart full of gratitude and a mind filled with wisdom. Over the past year, I have been on a journey of growth and self-discovery, and I truly feel like I have come into my own. I feel like over the past year I’ve been praying and asking God for wisdom and he’s granted me with countless opportunities and experiences both positive and some negative that I wouldn’t ever want to experience again (It was some real Fk* shit). But as the saying goes, it’s not about the destination; it’s the journey.

As I enter year 34 and I am filled with gratitude for all the experiences and the people past and present, who deeply influenced my life. People, purpose and impact have been at the center of my life this past year. I’ve had the privilege to meet, work with, and build lasting connections with many women across the country who have bestowed life and leadership lessons upon me that have shaped who I am – and who I am becoming. The wisdom they have shared has helped me beyond my wildest dreams. I am eternally grateful for their mentorship and guidance.

Silently battling and overcoming stress has been a major rock in my life this past year as well. And somehow in the midst of all that I was able to find love. Finding love and having someone who holds me accountable has pushed me to be better in all aspects of my life.
I also still played my most precious role of mommy and teacher. As a teacher, the challenges are great but the wisdom I have gained from my work has been invaluable. Every day, I am in service of others, especially the children I teach, and that brings me immense joy and fulfillment.
Being a mom has also presented its own set of challenges, but I have worked hard daily to become a better version of myself for my children. I faced some of my biggest challenges as a mom this year. I’m still wrapping my head around it all and finding creative ways to be the best mom I can and raise my children right. The impact my children have had on my mental health has been profound, and I am grateful for the lessons they teach me every day.

As I enter into my 34th year, I am excited for what the future holds. I am determined to continue on my journey of self-discovery, growth, and service to others. I am grateful for all the experiences that have shaped me and look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead. Cheers to another year of growth, learning, and love.
